Sizes
There is variation between different headwear manufacturers in the use of size markings. Usually size indicates head perimeter in centimetres. In Kivat headwear we do not, however, use this size marking as most of our hats are elastic and will comfortably fit different head sizes. This is why it is impossible to give precise sizes in centimetres.
In many families, buying outdoor clothing for the growing children is a major expense and many are tempted to save money by taking "one size larger". The purpose of hats and garments is, however, to protect the child, and choosing the right size will ensure best functionality and fit. For example, a hat that is too large can easily slip forwards over the eyes or to one side, leaving the other ear unprotected.
The size recommendations for Kivat products are shown in the following table giving the age corresponding to each of the size numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Please note that there are minor differences in the recommended ages in different product groups.
The best way to find the correct size is, of course, to try the hat on. The size recommendations are always approximate.
